This tour takes you to see some of the true "can't miss" sites of Brazil. From the Marvelous City of Rio de Janeiro and the nearby jet-set town of Buzios, to the ecological wonders of the Waterfalls of Iguaçu and the Amazon River with its capital of Manaus, this tour offers you excitement, intrigue, adventure, and a real appreciation of the best sites of Brazil.

Day 1 - USA to Rio de Janeiro
Depart the United States for Brazil!

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

Transfer from airport to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Take time to enjoy the tropical air with a leisurely stroll along the marina and seaside boardwalk.
Overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast, you will delight in a morning, panoramic city tour, passing by the Maracanã (soccer stadium), the Sambódromo (where the samba schools parade during carnival), the São Sebastião Cathedral, Cinelandia Square and Flamengo Park. Proceeding to the enchanting Urca district, we will ride the cable car up to Sugar Loaf for a spectacular view of the city and its dozens of beaches. Rest of the day free for personal activities.
Overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast the day will be free for optional activities. Rio is full of parks, eco-activities, shopping, or just relaxing.

Day 5 - Rio de Janeiro / Buzios
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast. Transfer from hotel in Rio de Janeiro to the seaside jet-set town of Búzios. Located just a few hours North of Rio de Janeiro, this town is frequented by those who love the jet-set live in a naturally beautiful and exotic seeing.
Overnight in Búzios.

Day 6 - Buzios

After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast you will have the Day free to explore this delightful town. Overnight in Búzios.

Day 7 - Buzios / Foz de Iguazu
After another delicious tropical buffet breakfast, transfer from hotel to Rio de Janeiro airport. After a short 2 hour flight, arrive in Foz de Iguaçu and transfer from the airport to the Hotel Tropical das Cataratas. This afternoon we will enjoy a half-day tour around the Brazilian side of the falls. You can walk through several trails that take you to fabulous recesses and footbridges that extend almost 1 mile bringing you close to the mightiest and most spectacular site in South America.

Day 8 - Foz de Iguazu
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast, we will have a full day visit of the Argentinean side of the Waterfalls & Itaipu Dam. You will have the chance during the passage towards the Argentine side to cross a bridge of 480 meters of extension constructed in 1985 that is known as the Bridge of Brotherhood. Visitors arrive to the Iguaçu National park through a Visitors Center equipped with an optimal structure: rest rooms, first aid room and plaques that illustrate the spectacular biodiversity of the park. From here, we start off through two eco-stations through ecological trains especially prepared for low environmental impact. The duration of each train is approximately 20 minutes. The first visit is of the superior part, then we will move to the inferior or lower part before reaching the impressive gorge and waterfall called "The Devil's Throat." From the Argentine side, you will have a direct view, maybe the best view of the day of the 200 waterfalls that make up the Foz de Iguaçu waterfalls. And finally, we continue to our last stop at the Itaipu Dam, where the magnitude of development surrounded by pristine beauty has raised worldwide attention and turned the Itaipu power station into one of the main tourism attractions of the Foz do Iguaçu.

Day 9 - Foz de Iguazu / Manaus
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast, transfer from Foz do Iguaçu to Manaus via air. After your flight and arrival in Manaus, in the heart of the mighty Amazon region, transfer to your Hotel.

Day 10 - Manaus / Amazon Cruise (Wednedays only)
After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast, we will leave the Tropical Hotel landing-stage boat area at 14:30. Upon embarkation, you will enjoy an onboard presentation by the boat staff of our exotic route and facilities as we navigate the Pagodão River (tributary of the Negro River). The day will finish with a scenic canoe trip shortly before sunset that gives you the possibility of observing a multitude of exotic nocturnal animals as the creep towards the water edge at dusk. After your canoe trip, enjoy a local supper that is sure to delight you as we navigate the Acu Creek and its tributaries.

Day 11 - Amazon Cruise
After another delicious tropical buffet breakfast, we will walk in the forest accompanied with an eco-specialist. You will have the chance to observe all types of exotic flora and fauna before we arrive in a small village and visit a local "caboclo" family. You will see the local way of life, the preparation of their local manioc flour (the staple foodstuff of the Amazon), the health and education situation of the children and much much more. After a delicious lunch, we navigate through the Anavilhanas, the world's largest fresh water archipelago, more then 1,000 miles from the ocean. Here, we will visit the village of Novo Airao, with its handicraft boat yards and where the famous boat "AMAZON CLIPPER" was built. See and enjoy the sawmills, markets and other local activities. Later, as we navigate more of the river, enjoy a supper by sunset…The day ends with us enjoying a night adventure to spy caimans, frogs, sloths, gigantic snakes and other local species, depending on the season. You will never forget this day!

Day 12 - Amazon Cruise
The day begins, after a hearty breakfast, with us navigating our way to Praia Grande or other white sandy beaches along the river. You will be able to swim if conditions permit as well as observe the peculiar vegetation of the sandy areas. Afterwards, we will venture on to Lake Acajituba or adjacent lake via canoe to see the typical flora and fauna (rubber trees, Brazil nuts, useful palm trees of various types). You will even have a chance to go fishing for piranhas if you wish! Lunch on board. In the afternoon, we stop at the Paricatuba community to see the old abandoned "rubber-boom" buildings, now all overgrown with strangler fig trees and other Amazonian vegetation. After another delicious dinner, we continue navigating well into the night…

Day 13 - Amazon Cruise / Manaus
In the morning after breakfast, we arrive at "Lake January." You will delight in a Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching. After this impressive adventure, we will navigate to the stupendous "Meeting of the Waters," a true cant miss of the mighty Amazonian Eco-system. After more cruising of the river, we return to the Tropical Hotel landing-stage at 1130 a.m. with its fine views of Manaus' waterfront. From here, you transfer to the airport with a brief city tour on the way. During the tour, you will visit the Opera House (Teatro Amazonas), opened in 1896, which is without a doubt one of the main tourist attractions of Manaus. The Opera House is a symbol of the rubber boom which brought great wealth in those times. Next, after a brief stop in front of Palácio Rio Negro, the old official seat of the State Government and a beautiful example of architecture in the "golden rubber period" (1890 to 1910), we will observe the popular houses (palafitas) in the adjacent creeks. Next, we will continue our visit with a visit of the Indian Museum which is important in understanding the traditions, customs and habits of the indigenous populations of the Amazon and Negro Rivers. And finally before arriving at the airport , you will enjoy a visit of the Municipal Market Adolpho Lisboa, from where the stunning Floating Port can be seen (externally). Arrival at airport and trip back to the USA….
